A morning quickie…. !!!

Just so you get the flavour of here, we went to the boulangerie this morning to pick up fresh baguette and croissants. Yummy… More from us later…. We are leaving site in a few minutes and on the road to Poitiers..

Le Shuttle, Bacon Baps and Hamilton…

Woke up at dark o’clock this morning, the van was freezing so we whacked the heating up and while Mike was doing his ablutions I cleared away the bedding and suddenly realised I couldn’t wear the top I wore yesterday as I had a big stain on it, so down to 9 x t-shirts now…

So let the adventures begin…

So for the first time this adventure I am again writing the blog. I hope that things go well and that there are no mishaps, but whatever happens we will deal with it. The planning has been intense, Mike has had lists of what to take, what to get, to buy, to collect, we’ve even…

Winter Holiday Planning 2017

We have decided that we will go to France and Spain in Vera this year when we finish the season. So after much deliberation and plenty of amazon ordering, we have worked out a route. The idea is to go down to leave home in late October and stay overnight near Folkestone, travel over on…

Mascots and Teatime Bears

It’s been a funny old week. At the start we had a yellow weather warning which meant around 4″ of rain fell in about 24 hours, the site became waterlogged and of course it was our days off. We then discovered we had a mains water leak which exacerbated the problem more. After sorting out…

A Couple of Days R&R at Home

Came home this week, first time since leaving site in March. It’s so lovely to come back, the house welcome and cosy. ¬†We have arranged to meet Chris, Laura and the boys before going back to site. We are collecting Harry and Jack from school later and going over to their house to have fun…

A Day on Skomer

We woke up to the hottest day of the year so far. The sky was deep blue and the temperature was already climbing. It was 7:45am when Pam and John picked us up ready for our day on Skomer Island. It is well known for its wildlife: around half the world’s population of Manx shearwaters…
